Lake Residence

A weekend lake house for a couple and their extended family. The primary design challenge: the house had to float well above the natural grade to stay out of the flood plain; and there was a strong desire by the client to feel connected to ground despite this. The main house level was carefully considered, and the slowly rising stairs that slice through overlapping terraces will allow residents to gently navigate from house to pool, to yard, and back. The massing strategy brings in plenty of air and light into the space underneath the main level so that the space will be usable and connected as well.

Role: Project manager providing regular oversight and direction to the project designers, running client meetings, and managing the project schedule and budget.
